And we’re back! It’s been a while, but I have been trying to decide just what to post next. These last few weeks have also gotten the best of me. But I felt like writing today so, here we are. Who says 2:00am posts aren’t the best kind of posts anyway?
So today was a day full of wanderlust. [an irresistible desire to travel to understand one’s very existence] Travel bug is hittin’ me harder than ever right now. I think it is because I know we’re about to have a good Midwestern winter soon and I want to avoid it as much as possible. I have been spending everyday dreaming of how I am going to get back to my secret life, my traveling life, the life that makes me feel so disconnected but so much more connected at the same time, such a paradox of a life.
“YOU ARE AN EXPLORER. Your mission is to document and observe the world around you as if you’ve never seen it before. Take notes. Collect things you find on your travels. Document your findings. Notice patterns. Copy. Trace. Focus on one thing at a time. Record what you are drawn to.”
I have become very attached to this quote in the last month or so as I have recently changed my major in light of what some might call an epiphany. I firmly believe that we are all explorers in this life and each day is a new adventure. I believe that I may have found my calling, or maybe it is because I am twenty years old. Either way, I am feeling pretty fantastic about my new career and life goals. I decided to record what I am drawn to, and what that turned out to be is travel and dancing. They say do what makes you happy right? So, I decided to drop the education portion of my degree and continue towards a degree in Spanish, Italian, and TESOL in hopes of being able to travel and dance sooner rather than later…
because life is for living.
Life is complicated, that's a given. I'm just here to talk through the rough patches, celebrate the successes of adulthood and figure out what the hell we're doing.
