You could say I'm catching flights... getting antsy and wishing my next travel plans were coming faster! When I'm dreaming of jet setting, there's only one way for me to ease my sorrows: settle in for a film to send my mind elsewhere. Here are my top 5 movies that always fill my travel withdrawals:
5. Wild (2014)
Reese Witherspoon drags, and I do mean drags, us through Cheryl Strayed's recounts of self discovery and personal growth against the Pacific Crest Trail. A MUST see that will have you poring over REI's website for all things PCT.
4. The Holiday (2006)
Kate Winslet & Jude Law [separately] finding love at Christmas. Need I say more? The charming English countryside meets the California sun in a story of love, self acceptance, and pure laughter.
3. Seven Years in Tibet (1997)
The story that opened my eyes to spirituality and the need to keep my Westernized culture in check. Now aside from these heavy themes, the film has so much to offer. Stunning views of the Himalayas, educational bits of Tibetan culture, and of course it's Brad Pitt non-stop, so you won't see me complaining.
